Typographic work

These essays were done for a typography class in which we researched and studied material from prominent designers in topics such as, the Bauhaus, science and design, postmodernism and the notion of authorship and what that means in today's collaborative design world just to name a few.

Essays were written for the class but then they had to be designed with the theme for each paper which it was about.

The first essay comments on postmodernism in society today. Based on the readings of Rick Poynor and his book No More Rules: Graphic Design and Postmodernism. Printed and presented as an 11 x 17 broadsheet

The second essay takes a look at iconographic imagery and how it may change the way communication may evolve in the future and across different cultures. As this topic dealt with icons I felt it appropriate to present this essay in the form of a messenger program. Specifically one that looked like MSN messenger as online messaging and the use of icons became far more prevalent around the late 90’s.
