Deisgn Workshop - Aggregation and Curation

This project was based on AIGA Designer 2025. Which is a list of trends and competencies that modern designers face. The class was divided into groups and each trend was then dissected and a student lead workshop was created for each. Following the workshop we then individually took what we learned from doing the exercise and fleshed out the idea into a more solid concept.

This specific project deals with aggregation and curation.

Excerpts from the poster text:

Aggregation / Curation Workshop:
For the workshop of Aggregation / Curation we were tasked with taking the idea of a list and finding a way of thinking of how one could show what a list in a form that might be different from what we know today as a traditional list, i.e a piece of paper or a note on your computer or phone. How could one transform the list into something unexpected, or how the list could be used in a larger system.

The Thing:
The Thing (Holo Cart) is a more practical evolution of the workshop deliverable. It essentially still uses the idea of the wearables being able to be connected to your computer or phone to update your grocery list for a trip to the store. The idea of the leaning tetrominos was replaced by a 3D isometric layout of the store. Holo Cart is a smart object/ wayfinding experience made to be used by students that would be either be going to the same grocery store that they are used to, or a new store of that same chain in a new location.
